JD Vance was paid 8 million to write the sequel to Hillbilly Elegy. He agreed to be the Vice-Presidential running mate of the man he once called "reprehensible." Vance previously went back and forth on his new running mate either being "a cynical asshole like Nixon... (or) America's Hitler."
